SAM KEMP of the Ravens has been traded to the Vipers for rookie netminder Gio Fernandez. The move allowed salary cap flexibilty for the Ravens to sign veteran free agent Connor McFadyen. McFadyen is re-united with teammates Tarin Perry and Eric Hooper.

Sam Kemp posted 25 goals, 26 assists, and 20 penalty minutes in 16 games this season for the Ravens. Fernandez had been primarily a back-up to Ethan "The Wall" Wong and now gets his chance as a starter for the Ravens.

CANUCKLEHEADS VS RAVENS

The Ravens still sitting at the bottom of the standings were desperately looking for a win. The desperation became more immanent 13 minutes into the game when Sam Kemp was untimely suspended. Sitting from the sidelines Kemp could only watch as his team got picked a part without his defense presence. What started out as a close game turned into an 11-6 Canucklhead drubbing of the Ravens. "The Magician" Collins continued his magic show finding the back of the net seven times and handing out two helpers. Quinn Whyte lead the Ravens with five goals.

December Player of the Month

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

Logan Hooper of the Canuckleheads is named player of the month for the month of December. Hooper highlighted the month with his outstanding two-way play. His blazing speed and nose for the net has made Hooper one of the most prolific and feared OSCHL snipers. As Hooper’s tallies continue to accumulate the fortunes of his team continue to soar. Hooper has helped keep the Canuckleheads in or around 1st place in the league from the onset of the season. His feisty play and high skill level is reminiscent of Jarome Iginla of the Calgary Flames.
Hooper’s work ethic, hustle and leadership have made him a mid season front-runner for the coveted Most Valuable Player award.

Congratulations, Logan.
